Mission, Vision & Values

Vision

To cultivate a diverse and talented workforce, strengthening Placer County’s prosperous and inclusive economy

Mission

Through strategic collaborations and innovative programs, create a robust workforce and thriving economic ecosystem where individuals have access to meaningful employment opportunities and employers have access to a diverse and skilled talent pipeline

Value Statement

The Placer Workforce Development Foundation believes our region’s greatest economic asset is its people, and that is only true when every person has a real path to meaningful work and every employer has the workforce it needs to grow. We bring employers, educators, government, and community partners to the table around common goals, because what no single sector can do alone, all of us can do together.

Strategic Priorities

PRIORITY 1:

Convene employer-led collaboratives to identify solutions that align between employers and talent providers using the Talent Pipeline Management initiative.

PRIORITY 2:

Partner with community organizations for career exploration opportunities, fostering a dynamic learning environment where K-12 and other learners discover their passions, develop new essential skills, and embark on successful pathways to future careers.

PRIORITY 3:

Engage talent providers, such as higher ed, technical schools, other training programs, in the implementation of solutions that strengthen our talent pipeline.

PRIORITY 4:

Increase equitable workforce access to disproportionately impacted communities and underrepresented groups by partnering with various community-based organizations.

PRIORITY 5:

Convening stakeholders to address barriers to employment such as transportation, childcare, and affordable housing.

Core Values

1. Collective Impact

The strongest workforce outcomes in the region come from working across sectors, not within them. When employers, educators, government, and community partners commit to the same goals, we achieve results that no single organization could produce on its own.

2. Action Over Rhetoric

We are defined by what we deliver. We show up as a trusted connector and resource, help partners do what they do best, and stay focused on getting things done. The region knows us as the organization that shows up and follows through.

3. Community & Opportunity

We are rooted in Placer County and accountable to the people who call it home. A person’s path to a good career should be shaped by their drive, not their zip code, and we work every day to make that true for everyone in our region.

4. Market-Informed & Data-Driven

We stay close to employers, track what the labor market is telling us, and build strategies around real jobs and actual hiring needs. We share what we learn, develop practical tools, and measure our work against real outcomes.

5. Future Ready

The jobs and industries of tomorrow are being shaped by decisions made today. We pay attention to where things are heading, adapt when the landscape shifts, and invest in the skills and systems that will keep our region competitive.
